Hello Nelda,
I've been researching the dominican branch of the Henriquez family, that emigrated from Curacao in the 1800's (specifically, my mother's great grandfather, Noel Henriquez y Artiles), and have had regular email correspondence since I started the work, with a delightful Boston resident, who saw my message asking for help.
She is not an Henriquez, but was born in Curacao, and her area of research is on Curacao families that emigrated elsewhere, but kept in touch with their people in Curacao. I can ask her to email you, and am sure she would be glad to share any information that might pertain to your particular Henriquezes.
By the way, I was at the New York Public Library two days ago, and found a fascinating two volume book called The History of the Jews of the Netherlands Antilles by Isaac S. Emmanuel (1970).There are pages and pages of Henriquez marriages listed in volume 2, including names of brides & grooms, dowry amounts, etc.Although we are Catholic, it has always been common knowledge in the family, that the roots of the Henriquez family are Sephardic (Spanish Jews).
Hope this is helpful to you.Perhaps we'll turn out to be cousins... Please keep me posted on your progress.
Jacqueline Jacques (in New York)
