Hepple's of Sunderland
I am trying to learn more about my family's history in Sunderland. My grandfather, George, was born and lived at
#4 Thomas Street, Sunderland (1880?). At the time, the home was owned by the Clark family (mother's maiden name). His maternal Grandfather's name was Michael Clark and his grandmother was Elizabeth Clark. His paternal grandfather,
also George Hepple, was a steamship which ran between Sunderland and Hamburg. His grandfather had five children
George, Robert, Elizabeth and Polly). When George was 2 his family left for for Australia on the "Scottish Hero".His father died a few later and he and his mother returned to England. Later they moved to the United States where I reside. I understand that Hepple relatives were in the shipbuilding business in Sunderland. I hope there is someone out there who can add to this story>
