Hi, I believe we have the same Herbs in our ancestry. My husbands' direct line is through Franz Josef's brother Anton Herb who married Eva Barbara so you share the same patriarchal line. Remarks of the Researcher: The records of St. Martin's church at Endigen were microfilmed by the Genealogical Society of Utah and are availabel through the FHL: Film Endigen: #906,271-3, Nussloch: #1052703-6.
. "the assumption that Joseph Anton of Endigen is the Anton of Nussloch-there was an older brother by the name of Franz Joseph - was made after finding the baptismal record of Anna Eliza Josepha, daughter of Franz Anton Herb residing in Laufenburg, but born in Endigen. The marriage record of Anton Herb and Eva Barbara states that Anton was born in Niderhof. Niderhof is the name of a hamlet outside of Laufenburg, near the Swiss border. The only Herb mentioned in the records is the baptismal record referred to above. It is assumed that the marriage record of Anton should read "was from" Niderhof."
Josephus (Joseph) Herb b. 17 October 1801 Nussloch, Germany--- came to America and settled in Freedom, Wisconsin, His son, Charlie married in Sandusky City, Ohio, later moved to Nebraska and then finally settled in Washington County, Oregon. Charlie and his brother Frank served in the Civil War enlisting from State of Wisconsin.
His father: Josephus Antonius Herb b 28 Feb 1755 Endigen, Germany; His father: John Baptist Herb b 11 June 1717 Endigen; His father: Hans (john) Jacob Herb b 15 April 1670 Endigen, His father: Hans(John) Jacob Herb b. April 15, 1670.
This genealogy is available in the FHL in Salt Lake City, titled "The Herb Family of Nussloch & Endigen, Sponsored by Lawrence D Herb, Researched by Brother Bede Stadler, C.S.C.
