"Harriet, a daughter of Benjamin Herrick, who married Lyman R. Martin, as mentioned in No. 20, had six children.Her husband served in the Civil War. "Henry Herrick, fifth child of Joseph born in 1818, married Ruth Leach in 1829.They had 15 children.He settled on Patch Mountain.He served in the army in the Civil War.I have been told that after the death of my Grandfather Verrill, in 1852, he occupied that farm until his own death. "Joseph L., on of his sons, born in 1845, died in the service, in the Civil War, in 1864.Hi daughter, Eliza C., who married Ira Cordwell, was previously mentioned in No. 11.She was born in 1839 and died in 1865."
