Here's what I know: In the 1780s there were the following Herrins in Cumberland Co. 1) Phillip died 1788 with wife Elizabeth, 2) Edward died in 1789, wife may have been Catherine and he had as his administrator Ephraim Herrin of Wake Co.. Ephraim was married to Agnes Lee and died in Posey Co., Indiana after having served on the SC Line, 3) Delaney, who hailed from Queen Anne Co., MD. He was related to the Quillains through Mary Herrin who married Teague Quillain in Queen Anne. The Queen Anne Co. Herrins were mostly descended from Alexander Herring who immigrated to Westmoreland Co., VA in 1674, and James who was enumerated in the same household as William. Jim Herring has this as William James Herring.
Edward had a son William.
Moses (m. Agnes Gresham), William Elisha (m. Mary Agnis Abimelech), Ephraim (m. Agnes Lee), Isaac (m. Unity Cannon), John (m. Elizabeth Collins), Edward (m. Maryan ___), and Owen were all closely related, perhaps brothers and sons of Edward of Chatham (and Cumberland).
