Hello Pat in Kentucky: Yes! His tombstone had his name engraved as "Allison Hewlett, 1802 - 12 April 1856. I know his Mother married Presley Pritchett afterwards. For Jane Hewlett to list any living grandchildren, she would have listed him as son of her married daughter, Martha Pritchett but instead his name is mentioned in her will as "Allison Hewlett, son of my daughter Martha Hewlett".I did find 2 marriages for him in Garrard Co. KY (Polly Stinnett & Sarah F Thompson) and Hopkins County, KY.
I have a lot of Hewlett tree information which is my paternal grandmother's surname. There are 2 major lines, the Long Island New Yorkers and the Virginia line from 1600's to present day whose descendants now reach to California, Michigan as far south as to Texas.
I'll be happy to share what I know and have. My Virginia line moved to South Carolina, then Warren County Kentucky by 1800 and one of the 7 sons migrated in 1839 to SW Missouri. 2 younger brothers moved to Illinois/Indiana.There is a Hewlett reunion held September in SW Missouri.
