I am very happy we have finally connected. Please say hello to Edie.I would really like to talk to her again. She wrote me once and I do have a phone number but that was so long ago. Anyway I have been trying to remember what I could about the family. Here goes:
Brothers were Cornelius and Ethan who died in WW1 in England and sisters Mary (my mother), Grace (the youngest),Anne and Susie. There was another brother, Bobby who lived in St Ambroise and ran a general store. There is another brother but I cannot remember his name.Anne(Hiebert) Trost lived in St. Ambroise with her husband Alex and their daughter Anne. Susie lived on a farm outside St. Ambroise. My mother married Peter Smith and Grace married Henry Ram and settled in Kitchener Ontario. The only story about Cornelius Jr., was that he possibly punctured his one ear drum to avoid fighting in the war because of what happened to his brother Ethan in WW1 (he was blown-up in a camp in England when a munitions building was destroyed). The family was never compensated for his death. Their mother was Catherine Harder and after Cornelius senior died she married another man and I only heard that his name was "Pip".
That's all I know, but I will be talking to my cousin Linda and pick her brain for more info.
