Hello Sue,
That's very exciting news!
I can tell you that Alice Howard Higginson who married Robert Richardson Voas was named after the Alice Howard, née Higginson, who married Richard Howard, a whitener, on 10 August 1768 at St Mary's Church, Walton-on-the Hill, near Liverpool.
Richard and Alice Howard had two children, George Howard, born 7 August 1777, and Sarah, born 9 July 1779.
Robert Richardson and Alice Howard Vose, née Higginson, had 6 children as far as I caould discover. Two were Sarah Howard Vose, baptised 3 April 1836 at Wallasey, Cheshire, and her brother George Howard Voas, bapt. on 11 August 1839 at the same place.
Alice Howard Higginson's brother Thomas and his wife Ann(e) née Horn, named two of their several children George Howard Higginson and Sarah Howard Higginson.
The Vose and Higginson children with the forenames George Howard and Sarah Howard were certainly named after the two above-mentioned children of Richard and Alice Howard.
Sarah Howard married one Henry Woods. Sarah's will is interesting and mentions several members of the Higginson family and one Vose (Voas), namely George, son of Robert Vose (Voas) of Liscard.
Sarah's brother George Howard was a seafarer, first in the West Indies trade, then in the slave trade until its abolition in 1807, then the Brazil trade and finally in the palm oil trade. He died aged only 43 at Old Calabar, Africa. He left quite a lot of money, most of which he'd earned as a Captain in the slave trade. His will mentions several Higginsons but no Voas/Vose.
I am sure I have a lot more info which could interest you. I would also be interested in your Voas tree. If you care to contact me directly on my email address:

it would be easier as I could then send you various files as attachments. I don't use gedcom because I started my research long before there was such a thing and I didn't feel inclined to convert everything!
I do hope the above is of interest. I'd love to hear from you again.
Best wishes
Douglas
