I am going to send this info. to my group, as one has person has more Williams.
Can you tell me anything about your Abbott line? I am stuck at my Benjamin Franklin Abbott b. 1812 m. Caroline Pickett Willis. This is the Willis line that ties to the Virginia line (Henry Willis + Mildred K. Washington). The Abbotts tie loosly to the Custis family and that is where I hoped to find more about the Abbotts. However, there are so many Abbott groups to sort through: 2 George Abbotts, and then some.
The group consists of so many connecting lines: Standifer, Gregory, Slaughter, Modessett, Turner, Abbott, Cain, Todd, Miller, Lawrence, Stiles, Olive, Oliver, Layne, Briggs, Kelton, McWhirter, Hall, Mason, Lawhon, Gardner, and so many more.
These families all cluster around Beaukiss, and Adina, Williamson Co., TX.
At this point, I think we tie to just about everyone!
My grandfather was Ralph Abbott, son of Silas Abbott and Martha Ann Layne. Ralph married Birdie Briggs, dau. of Samuel Oscar Briggs and Mary Eva Finch.
Birdie's brother, Leslie Briggs is the father of LaQuita Briggs m. Clinton Lawhon.
John D. Turner is LaQuita's first cousin, so was my father.
The Laynes tie to Pontons, and they in turn to Highsmith.
Phoebe Turner, dau. of Winslow m. William J. Null. The Nulls are part of Pam Cain's lines: Slaughter/Cain/Abbott/Modessett/Mason/Hall/Hobbs, etc.
Pam's great-grandfather Abbott and mine were brothers.
I am investigating Cottles since the Cheeks and Zumwalts marry Weems and Abbotts. Pam and I are also related to Mary Ann Oliver Weems Faver. Olivers also marry my Todds.
I have one Clare listed, O. B. Clare m. Viola Webb and they are buried at Lawhon Springs, TX. This is one of Pam's Webb people. Chloe Clare m. William Hanson Lawhon. She is the dau. of James Daniel Clare and Amanda Waddle.
