From: "Deed of Franklin County, Georgia 1784-1826" by Martha Walters Acker, 1976, Birmingham, AL.
Deed dated April 1, 1788 (recorded in Franklin County, Georgia, Deed book C, page 56)David Hillhouse of Washington, Wilkes County, Georgia, and wife Sarah to William Deakins, Jr. of Maryland for 200 pds., conveyed 9,000 acres, adjacent Cook granted by Governor Handley of Georgia on Febrauary 8, 1788.
Deed dated March 12, 1792 (recorded in Franklin County, Georgia, Deed book K, page 65)David Hillhouse of Wilkes County, Georgia, and wife Sarah to Thomas Hillhouse of New Haven, Connecticut, in consideration for 1133 pds., 10 sh. two tracts of land, 500 acres and 200 acres ( plus additional details).
One other deed was written in 1798 and David and Sarah were still in Wilkes County, Georgia.
I'm interested because of the "Sloan" surname used later and because of the earlier connection to the Dickey family in the Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, and York County, South Carolina, area.
