I'm not sure, The most I know is that my family came from Co, Monaghan. That they landed during the potatoe plague that stuck Ireland. Most of my history in Canada is located up in Durham and Grey Co in the Bruce, with several members of my Family buried in Hanover, Ont.
I know that there was a Family Feud over land when my Great Grandfather (Robert Hillis) left and moved to the Sarnia region then Detroit. Most of everything else is left in the air. My Grandfather died the year before I was born, and most of the History was lost with them, other then whispers, of land and titles in Northern Ireland before the English pushed as from our houses and they settled in Monaghan. Common names in my Family, are William, James, Robert, Samual. Actually the last Samual I've heard of was hit by a Train in Shallow Lake.
