Jerry, Good to see you again.I was inactive in my research there for awhile but am back on my feet again and ready to roll. I am heading down to Kittaning, Armstrong Co., historical center next month. Please keep in touch and I will again share any findings I come across. If you have any specifics you would like me to look for except the same theory we are both trying to prove, let me know. Will gladly look for you while I am there. If you would like a copy of my ged.com file let me know. I am not sure if I told you this before, but I am related to this Heim's family twice.John George Heim Jr. (Our John) was the brother of John William Heim (m) Anna Barbara Hetrick. They are my 7th and 8th great grandfathers. I am wondering if the mistake could have been made when they remove from Northumberland Co., to Armstrong Co.
One genealogist read that the father of the brothers had died before their removal to Armstrong Co.Then a second death date led him to believe that he indeed died after the brothers moved to Armstrong Co., and the family returned him to Northumberland Co., PA. to be buried.I think this seems unlikely they would return the body to another county.Especially due to the hardships of traveling in these times.
I am also going to do a very close study of the Census Records to see if I can find something about the ages of the men in the household that might shed some light on whether this Heim's researcher made this theory. It might be our John Heim's they are seeing in Armstrong Co.Anyway anything is worth a shot at this point.
Take Care Jerry and please contact me at my new e-mail address.
