With research help from the Limerick Ancestry and Archives office, I have discovered a little bit of info about my HINCHEY ancestors - my 3x great-grandparents -- and hope that someone on this Forum recognizes some links to their own research and will exchange info with me.
David HINCHEY (listed as HENNESSY in one of the records below, but given as HINCHEY in all other instances) married Mary QUILTY (date and location not known). They lived/had 4 daughters baptized in St. Michael's Parish, Limerick city, County Limerick in the 1820s (there may have been more children, but I know about these 4 only):
Catherine - born/baptized 21.05.1823; sponsor/godparent:Bridget Quilty Bridget - born/baptized 02.11.1825; sponsors/godparents: James Connell and Ellen Hurley Hanora - born/baptized 25.11.1828; sponsors/godparents: John McDonnell and Mary Kilfoy Margaret- born/baptized 20.09.1831; sponsors/godparents: Michael Hinchy and Bridget Conway
The eldest, Catherine, with chums Margaret KENNEDY and Mary TRACEY, emigrated to Sydney, NSW, Australia in 1844 on the bounty ship, Royal Saxon, under the protection of Francis DONAHUE/DONAHOE and his wife.Catherine married James STEWARD in Sydney and they moved with their 2 young sons to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1950.
I have information to share about their descendants -- and hope to find info on the rest of the family. Thanks to anyone for added info, or suggestions for further research! Kaye Steward
