That would be Deacon Samuel HINCKLEY (24 S 1684, Barnstable, MA - 1762, ME) who m. Mary FREEMAN.They had sons, first three recorded at Harwich, per Mayflower Descendant (magazine) &bpt. Brewster, MA:
Seth (1707 - 1747, killed by Indians) m. Thankful ATWOOD.
Shubael (1708 - 1798, Hallowell, ME) m1. Mary SMITH.
Samuel (Feb. 1710/11 - Je. 1767) m. Sarah MILLER. Ch. of Georgetown, ME.
Edmund/Edward? b. 20 Nov. 1712, m. Sarah SMITH.
Aaron (13 S 1715, bpt. Truro, Barnstable, MA, 11 N 1716 - 8/18 Mar. 1792/3) m. 13 F 1746, Mary LARRABEE (7 Apr. 1728 -27 Mar. 1807).
Isaac (1726 - 1751, killed by Indians) m. Agnes SMITH.
There were also William and Gideon HINCKLEY, either sons of Samuel or of his son Seth.
In Brunswick, 1880, per the FamilySearch database, the older HINKLEY families were headed by Rosilla, 57, ME, who had ch. Ellen, Lizzie, Annie, Frank, & Edward.
Also, Brunswick, 1880:HINKLEY, Aaron, 65, ME; wf. Rhoda, 54; dau. Fanny, 40, single; stepdau. Harriet WILSON, 21, single; mother-in-law Abigail HUNT, 85, ME.
There was also a family for David DENNISON, 66, ME ME ME, wool carder; wf. Nancy, 72, ME; single sisters Elizabeth DENNISON, 68; & Mary DENNISON, 69.Also in household was Ebenezer SWETT, 80, ME.Benjamin HINCKLEY (1744 - 1824) m. Dinah SWETT, b. 1750.There was an earlier David DENNISON, m. 1782, North Yarmouth, Cumb., ME, who had a son David.--This still doesn't connect, but we're getting closer. :-)
FamilySearch says that Julia HINKLEY, b. 26 Mar. 1845, Brunswick, ME, was dau/o Charles HINKLEY & Rosilla FREEMAN.He might be Charles HINKLEY (20 Aug. 1811, Brunswick - 9 May 1866).
Sorry, I haven't identified Charles HINKLEY & Rosilla.Can you think of any more clues?
