I have been doing research on the Grissom/Grisham/Gresham families for about 30 or 40 years. I use to correspond with Nadine Tuttle and we exchanged information on our families, the Grissom's and Hinman's,must have been back in the 1970s before she passed away.
I have never heard of Adult Polycystic Kidney Disease in the Grissom family..I wouldn't want my nose to grow, but I have never heard of that in the Grissom Family before.
This group of Grissom's does have diabetes in their line. The family always said that Lucy Ellen Grissom d/o of Andrew Grissom and Nancy Ellen Cross, had a 16 lb baby boy. I am sure they weighed the baby on cotton scales but still that is a good sign of diabetes. Ever once in a while someone in the family comes up with Diabetes..
As you know Mary Ann (Polly) Grissom was the sister of Andrew Grissom and after they both passed away Isaac Hinman married Nancy Ellen the wife of Andrew Grissom.
Isaac Hinman and a lot of the Grissom's were carpenters and the family lore said that he was contracted to build the old House in Stephenville, Erath Co. TX. Some of the children of Andrew Grissom and Nancy Cross was born in TX. Always thought it was Bell Co. TX, but not sure.
