How do you know William was born in 1841? Most birthdates are, in fact, christening dates. These can vary by up to ten years from birth date as often Mum & Dad took a batch of kids to be christened at the same time.
Have you tried the Momrons lists. They are very comprehensive and are available at most public libaries.
The earliest date I have in my bible is Joseph Hipkiss who married Martha Neeson both of Birmingham on April 3, 1826 at Aston Church. Aston is a village a few miles away from the center of Birmingham.
They had a child Richard who was born February 26, 1827 and it was he who was awarded the bible by the Ebenezer Sunday School. Richard later became a successful manufacturer rolling steel pen nibs. Birmingham produced nibs for the world at that time.
I am looking for some early photographs as I have nothing before the 1914 -18 War
