My great grandmother "NANNIE ANN FOLEY" was the daughter of LUKE SPENCER FOLEY & MARGARET CAMPBELL.
LUKE SPENCER FOLEY's mother was NANCY RECTOR.
Kentucky and Tennessee are the states most prominent in my families residence for the last 225 years.Prior to that Virginia and the Carolinas.
Please see my www.landscapelady.com site for the other surnames which comprise my maternal and paternal kin.
NANCY RECTORwas the daughter of JAMES RECTOR & LEANNAH WARREN born about 1760.
NANCY RECTOR was born in ROWAN County, NORTH CAROLINA in 1790.
JAMES RECTOR was a soldier in the REVOLUTIONARY WAR and was in the "Battle of Yorktown".
Five of my future families met in this war and fought together in the same calvaries. After his first wife died, he married LEANNAH WARREN and moved first to WAYNE COUNTY KENTUCKY and then on to LINCOLN COUNTY MISSOURI. The children of his second family were born in KENTUCKY and MISSOURI.They are half siblings to my gggrandmother NANCY RECTOR FOLEY.
JACOB RECTOR and MARY ANN HITT were second generation GERMANNA COLONISTS.
JACOB's father, JOHN JACOB RECTOR, was one of the original GERMANNA colonists, who came over to VIRGINIA from TRUPBACH, GERMANY in 1714.JACOB was born around 1720 to 1725 in VIRGINIA.
MARY ANN HITT's father was also one of the original GERMANNA colonists, PETER HITT through his second marriage to ELIZABETH OTTERBACK/UTTERBACH.
MARY HITT RECTOR was born about 1727, and died about 1813.
FOLEY's first cousin, LEONA RECTOR, also married a FOLEY - JACOB FOLEY, around the same time my gggrandmother NANCY RECTOR married SPENCER FOLEY.That family ended up in KENTUCKY as well.Any other interesting or helpful information to add or enhance the information I already have would be appreciated.
