from here I'm not sure but a possibility is : 1870 United States Federal Census > Ohio > Montgomery > Dayton John Hittel HOH age 44 POB Pa Margaretha (Hittel) (1870 census does not give relationship to Head of House) age 53 POBBaden John (Hittel) 14 attending school POB Pa. This is the only John Hittle etc. in Ohio that I find both listed as born in Pa and DOB of abt 1855. If they weren't in Ohio by 1870, then it becomes a more difficult to sort out the possibilities.
