Thanks Rick, My father, James F. Hobbins, was the only child of his parents James F. Hobbins and Emma James. My father was named after him. If my guess is correct, and the James F. Hobbins I found in the 1910 PA Census is my grandfather, he is the older of the two brothers mentioned. So possibly my grandfather was named James after his father; if the Irish tradition held it would make my grandmother Hobbins' father named John since that is the name of the brother on that census. That is unless in the 2 yrs difference in their ages there wasn't another male child. Won't looking for a John James be fun? Thanks again for the tip!
