Thomas Hobbins married Amelia Boyea/Beayea/Boyer. Thomas was born in Ireland in 1850 and the 1900 US Census says he came to the US in 1863. Amelia, his wife was born in Canada in 1854 and came to America in 1870. The 1900 census says they had 12 children (all living 1900), I can account for 4 of them on the 1880 US Census, Huston Township, Clearfield Co., PA: Maime(Mary Ellen) born PA 1874, Sarah PA 1876, Willetta PA 1879 and Thomas PA 1880, and for 5 of them on the 1900 US Census, Snow Shoe, Centre Co.,PA: Effie PA 1888, Florence VA 1890, James PA 1892, Laurence 1895 and Alice PA 1896. I believe that Thomas is related to the Hobbins famlies in Wisconsin and in Peterborough, Ontario. The family of James Hobbins born Ireland 1816 and Bridget Hobbins born Ireland 1825 have many family names the same. I am assuming that John is James's son, born Ireland 1845, his wife Bridget born Ireland 1847, and their children James WI 1870, Thomas WI 1871, Alice WI 1873, Norah WI 1875, Mary WI 1878. It seems that the children of John from WI and Thomas from PA have many of the same names. I also believe that there is a relationship between the Thomas Hobbins family and the Ontario Hobbins families. Sarah Jane Boyea (daughter of Benjamin) married a Joseph King (Roy in French) and they also lived in Clearfield County, PA and in Hasting, Peterborough, Ontario. I have not yet connected the family relationships but the names of the Ontario Hobbins families have similar naming patterns. I am looking for information about bothThomas Hobbins and his wife, Amelia Boyea/Beayea/Boyer and their parents, heritage and birthplaces. According to the 1900 census Thomas was a naturalized citizen, so I am hoping to find his naturalization papers. I do not know if Amelia is Sarah Jane King's sister, but would like to make that family connection also. Thank you for any information you can provide.
