I have to thank you for sharing your information on the Fort Wayne Hobrocks.
After I printed off your info, I went through my set of FTM CDs, and lo and behold, here is what I found on #354 (Passenger and Immigration Lists 1538-1940):
In 1834, John and Adam Wefel arrived in New York and transisted to Indiana.
In 1837, Frederick Wefel arrived in New York and transited to Indiana.
Later, five males were naturalized in Indiana:
Nicholas Heinrich "Hobroke"
John Herman "Hobroke"
Since my mother had information that John Herman was born in 1839, either her date is off or the family emigrated in 1839 not 1838. Still, sounds like good information to me.
Curious that no female Hobrocks were listed, though.
