I am looking for information on a firm, Hobson and Collins that I feel operated out of Philadelphia in mid-late 19th century. This firm was partners in a schooner with my ancestor William Alexander Blocksom Sr.1832-1902 Little Creek, Kent, Delaware. Blocksom's brother-in-lawHiram Lockwood built the boat(I'm guessing post 1860-65) and they named it the 'Mary E. Hobson'for the wife of one of the partners of the firm, Hobson and Collins? Capt. Blocksom sailed this schooner between Little Creek and Philadelphia, Baltimore, and New York, using the rivers and canals to haul farm produce to these markets and bringing back needed supplies.

Your folks Thomas and Mary L. are about the right era, and the seed and flour store would fit? but for the Mary L...Not E.
Anyone have coinciding info or any reference to a firm 'Hobson and Collins'?
Or a Hobson with a wifeMary E. from either Phili, or Kent Co. Delaware. around that time?
