Bruce, I have information on a Lavina HOCKER, who married William ERB. Lavina was born 9 Apr 1854 in Hockersville, Derry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Lavina was the daughter of Jacob and Francis "Fanny" (LANDIS) HOCKER.
As far as I know Jacob and Fanny had 10 children as follows: 1. Louisa H., born 1843 and died 1915, married Martin ULRICH 2. Sarah, born 1846 3. Mary, born 1848, married Henry WAGNER 4. Josiah, born 1851, died 1855 5. Lavina, born 1854, married William ERB 6. Henry Landis, born 1857 7. Charles, born 1860 (twin) 8. Alice, born 1860 (twin) 9. Elizabeth L., born 1863 10. Franklin Landis, born 1867
All of these children were born in Hockersville, Derry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. I don't have any record of any of the daughters of this family marrying a HOCH.
However, I have another HOCKER family with two daughters, Mary Louisa and Lavina. John W. and Elizabeth (HENRY) HOCKER also lived in Derry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. This couple had 12 children, as follows: 1. Martin L. 2. Josiah 3. John Benjamin 4. Peter A.M. 5. Ephraim 6. Elizabeth Ann 7. George P. 8. Mary Louisa, born ca 1840/41, Hockersville, married Samuel HOKE 9. Sarah C. 10. Lavinia, born 1847, Hockersville, married Acquilla BRANDT 11. Amanda J. 12. Cordelia
According to the information I have, Mary Louisa and Samuel HOKE had two children: William and Stella. The couple married after 1860, as Mary Louisa was still living at home that year, according to the census enumeration.
Jacob and John W. HOCKER were brothers. Their father Martin HOCKER married twice, first to Christina BEINHAUER and second to Barbara SMITH. John was Christina's son; Jacob was Barbara's. All in all, Martin HOCKER had 14 children with his two wives.
I have a great deal more information on the HOCKERs. Please let me know if you're interested in more data. I hope this information helps you to make the connection.
