Mr. Hocutt:
I apologize that this note has nothing to do with English relatives although three years ago my husband and I spent a delightful week at an international Wisenbaker family reunion in Dietlingen, Germany!Maybe a Hocutt one is in the making.
I am interested in securing a copy of the Hocutt book you refer to in your email if it is not too terribly expensive. My ggrandmother was Millie Hocut who married Sampson Carroll on Oct. 3, 1841 in Newton County, GA.According to census data she was born about 1825 in NC where both her parents were also born.My second reason for this note is the name Celeste that appears at the end of your name.My GGGrandmother Millie named her first daughter and fourth child Celeste (Celestia or Selestia) b. 1850 in GA who married J.H. Wilson in 1879.Is this a name that has importance for you?My ggrandfather was the fifth child, Early Jim Carroll b. 1853 in GA.
Thank you, Faye Cook Wisenbaker
