My Samuel Hodges was born circa 1815, and according to census records, he was born in Georgia. He married Prandy Goff, also known as Prinda Goff or Goffe.
Some researchers say Samuel Hodges, husband of Prinda aka Prandy Goff, is the son of William Henry Hodges and Ann Blitch. But that Samuel Hodges reportedly died in January, 1848, in Camden Co. South Carolina.
Most Hodges researchers show a Samuel C. Hodges, the son of James Hodges, as having died in Alabama after 1880. I would like to have more data on Samuel, son of James, and the data showing he died after 1880 in Alabama. My Samuel died 17 March, 1859, in Hopkins County, Texas.
There are also researchers who have the Samuel Hodges who married Prinda Goff as the husband of Sarah Elizabeth Daniel. However, that Samuel is said to have died in Georgia, also in 1848, so this could not be the Samuel who died in 1859 in Texas. The marriage date of Samuel and Prinda makes it possible that he was married before; but, to whom?
