Don't know about Minnie Hodges, but have done some research on Ben Agey Profitt Powell due to his relationship with the Mode and Powell families in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee.
Ben listedhimself on his World War I draft registration form as Ben Agey Proffitt Powell, with nearest relation Ellen. From census and the wwI draft card it would seem that Ben Powell's wife's given names were Mary Ellen or May Ellen, with Minnie being a nickname. Is this true?
Have you gotten copies of the death certificates for Ben and Minnie yet?
