Hello Theresa:
Thank you for your interest in this thread. I have given this matter some thought, and I will attempt to be succinct in my reply.
I beleive my grandfather Joe was born in/near Edmonton Alberta around 1908 +/- 5 years. He passed away in 1975, and I think he was 68 at that time. My grandmother Maime (Kaiser) Hoecherl followed him in death 5 years later.
I am not sure when they were married, but my father was the second of thier four children, all of whom were born and raised in Mpls., MN (and still reside thereabouts).
Since he is now 68, and his older brother was born three years earlier, my guess would be that thier marriage took place around 1927 or 28 or so.
I think that they were married in Spooner, or somewhere around there, but it is my understanding that they left shortly thereafter for Mpls. in search of steady work.
My grandfather Joe found work at the Neesham iron foundry in St. Paul, where he stayed (largely) until his retirement 3 years before his death (imagine, about 45 yrs at the same job!).
Anyhew, I am "curiouser and curiouser" about these roots, and (naturally) anything you care to add would be of interest. Thanks again for the info tho!
