Dearest Anton, My name is Mrs. Donna L. Oglesby. I am the GGGG Neice to Louisa ( Burzlaff ) Burminghan- Hoekstra. On the copy of the 1900 federal census that I have, it lists, Louisa by her married name, when she came over with her parents, August Burzlaff and wife Wilamina ( as it is spelled on the census). She was Born March 1879. It also states that she was married for 4 years, in Germany. She brought with her, her Daughter from the marriage, Agnes, but no mention of her husband. The census also states that she had two chnildren, so one of them died before she came with her parents, to the US. She and her parents came over in 1884.
The Chicago Tribune Obit, 13 June 1959. Lists her as Louisa E. Hoekstra, beloved wife of the late Frank, loving mother of Agnes and Robert H. Hoekstra. Grandmother to 7, greatgrandmother to 4, fond sister to Theodore Burzlaff, Mrs. Rose Stiegart ( my GG Grandmother ) and Mrs. Henrietta Bergstrom.
She is buried in Mount Greenwood Cemetery, along with her parents, just headstones away from each other. I have a picture of them.
Any Info on the Hoekstra family that you have, or any pictures would be appreicated. Donna L. Oglesby firstname.lastname@example.org
