We did not see any other Scofield on the family plot, although there were many Hoffs and family buried there.I took pictures and have names of all the Hoffs.
I will try writing to the cemetery personnel as they were most helpful in locating the burial place.Perhaps they know of her husband.
There is a James M. Turpin buried b: 5/14/1928 d: 1/21/2002 there at Rose Hill Cemetery. He used to work at Rose Hill Cemetery.I feel he must have been related to the Turpin/Hoffs.
Also, buried on the family plot were Mildred Hoff Shumaker and John Lyle Shumaker, buried next to Evelyn Scofield.
Recently I had access to a book titled "History of Clinton Co."There was a man named William Schofield who was profiled in this book.If you think he could be a grandfather, etc. to Evelyn's husband, let me know and I can e-mail it directly to you.Clinton Co. is not very far from Rose Hill.
My husband's grandmother, Elizabeth Turpin Gerrard, was a sister to Anna May Turpin Hoff.
