Do you have any information on CORNELIUS HOFF?Is there any chance that he was the same CORNELIUS HOFF who was of "Dutch" descent and was one of the first 3 sons documented to the Rev. DANIEL HOFF by his first wife, LAURA TITUS?If so, he was born in Somerset or Hunterdon Co., NJ between 1770-1772, after the marriage of DANIEL and LAURA in Sept. 1769, but before DANIEL HOFF moved to Northern Virginia, near Manassas, sometime ~1770, where he later married SUSAN SOPHIA MOFFETT, his second wife, around 1773, and had a second family documented by Arnold Hovey. This would have included my 3Xgreat grandfather JOHN (or JONATHAN) F. HOFF (1775-1812), who was the father of POWELL HOFF (1801 VA - 1870 Dallas Co., IA), and his son, JOHN H. HOFF (1830 Chesterhill, OH - 1909 Dallas Co., IA), and his son, JOHN CASSIUS HOFF (1875 Dallas Co., IA - 1960 Des Moines, IA), and my father, JOHN RICHARD HOFF (1909 DSM, IA - 1970 DSM, IA), and then me, JOHN SCOTT HOFF (1946 DSM, IA - Now, living in Chicago, IL).I have 2 children: JENNIFER JO HOFF (1982 Hoffman Est., IL - Now living in Chicago), and a son, JOHN BARON HOFF (1984 IL - Now living in Chicago).I also have a younger brother, ROBERT TENNANT HOFF (4 Jun 1948 DSM, IA - Now unmarried with no children, an attorney with the GSA, residing in Washington, DC).
So, that is my early "Dutch"/NJ Hoff lineage and how I believe I am, or 'may' be related to CORNELIUS HOFF of NJ.Can you confirm the early origins of 'your' CORNELIUS HOFF, and is the the same individual? Can you also better describe your exact nexus to him in terms of the individuals between you and 'your' CORNELIUS HOFF, with exact dates, locations, etc.?I would like to document this important "missing link" to my HOFF Family tree, if possible. If it is all on paper and easier, I'd welcome a printed copy, if you have such.
