See also Post #4314, 9 April 2011. David A. Hoffman was a native of S.C. and was in Nacogdoches, Texas, by 1829. Sometime between 1829 and 1835, he married a Mary who was a native of Louisiana. He died in 1837 in Texas, leaving one son, Daniel D. Hoffman, born in 1834 in Louisiana because, like so many more, many husbands in that dangerous area of the time sent their pregnant wives by boat to the nearby safety of Louisiana to deliver the child.
I can only assume that David A. Hoffman married Mary in Texas, she having come from Louisiana to Nacogdoches with her parents, or some family members.
Mary remarried in 1838. Does anyone know who this Mary might have been?
