Hello, My mother's (Deborah A. Hoge, b. 1942) dad was Kenworthy M. Hoge. He was born about 1913. The M stands for Mansfield and I have taken the Mansfield name back as far as I can go, but not the Hoge name. Kenworthy was married first to my grandmother, Elizabeth Jackson, and, second, to a Mary Taylor. Mary and my grandfather are both deceased, but they had three children whose names (before marriage)were: Mary Taylor Hoge, Christine Taylor Hoge, and Caroline M. Hoge.I believe all three are still living and are in their 50's. Kenworthy's parents were Kenworthy Hoge and Carrie (maiden name may be Burkel or Pomble).I believe that I have traced him back to Sir John of Scotland, but I am not sure. I think the connection comes in with William Hoge and Mary McGath (William's second wife). They had a son, Kenworthy Hoge, born about 1821,in Loudoun, Virginia. I located an 1860 census record with a Kenworthy Hoge, born in Virginia, who I believe was the anscestor of my grandfather, Kenworthy, but the dates are a bit off, since the age listed for this Kenworthy is, "about 32." Therefore, if he is our Kenworthy, the census makes him about 7 years too young. Could the census be that far off on the age?
