Loady Palmer Holbrook, 66, of Church Hill, Hawkins Co TN,
went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at
Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Sullivan
Co TN.
Loady was born on February 10, 1947, in Russell Co VA, to the
late Mack and Edith Marshall Holbrook.
He served his country proudly in the United States Army,
serving in Vietnam War. He owned and operated Loady's Locks
and was a member of the Kingsport Locksmith Association. He
also was a member of the Kingsport Masonic Lodge #688.
Loady retired from Tennessee Eastman after 36 years of service.
He was a member of Gravelly Baptist Church.
Loady was a devoted Christian and a loving husband, father,
grandfather, and friend.
Loady was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Edith
Marshall Holbrook.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Rita Phillips Holbrook;
daughter, Kimberly Holbrook Milligan and husband John, of
Kingsport, TN; son, Loady Palmer Holbrook, Jr. and wife Debra;
grandchildren, Lacey Bullins Patterson, Katie Bullins, Abbey
Holbrook, Connor, Jordon, Claire, Ethan, and Sophie Milligan;
great-grandson, Noah Patterson; sisters, Dixie Mitchell, of
Castlewood, VA, and Ruth Smith and husband Sid, of Lake
Wales, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends in the sanctuary of Gravelly
Baptist Church, 647 Gravely Road, Kingsport, TN 37660
(formerly Gravely Elementary School) on Tuesday, January 28,
2014, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
A memorial service will follow at 8 p.m., with Pastor David
Salley, officiating.
Military Honors will be accorded by Kingsport Hammond
Post #3 and Gate City Post #265 of the American Legion.
The family is honoring Mr. Holbrook's request for cremation.
