SHREVEPORT, LA - Celebration of Life services for Carolyn Yvonne "Evie" Hollensworth Romine, 72, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2009, in the Centuries Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Dana Casey officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, Louisiana. The family will be receiving guests from the hours of 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2009, at Centuries.
Mrs. Carolyn Yvonne "Evie" Hollensworth Romine went to be with the Lord October 9, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Magnolia, Arkansas to Winfrey and Margarette Ainsworth Hollensworth. She graduated from the Magnolia school system and enrolled in Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana and graduated with a degree in nursing. "Evie" spent her life with a devotion to her christian belief, her love for her family, dedication to her professional career with Willis Knighton as a R.N., and her passion for antiques and wild flowers.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Rexine Hollensworth Walthall; and one brother, William Don "Butch" Hollensworth.
Left to cherish her memories and tell her story will be her husband of 50 years, Douglas Romine; two sons, Mark Romine, David Romine and wife, Kathy; two grandchildren, Holly Reynolds and husband, Seth, and Jonathan Romine and fiance', Shirele Waters; two great grandchildren, Mackinsey Reynolds "Maggie" and Logan Romine; one brother, Bud Hollensworth and wife, Brenda; one sister, Alicia Johnson and husband, Ronnie; along with many other family members and a host of friends.
Acting as pallbearers will be Jaf Fielder, AlJay Foreman, Jim Wilcox, Seth Reynolds, Jon Romine, and Joey Keller. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Elrod, Dr. Micheal Moore, Dr. P.V. Blanchard, Dr. Bill Norwood and Dr. Michael Durci.
