I have visited this cemetery. It is located in a small grove of trees off to the right at the entrance of Silver Lakes, a Robert Trent Jones Golf Course Community.Going north on 431 from Anniston to Glencoe, Alabama, you will see signs to the community.Looking at the map, the cemetery is located in Township 13S Route 7E.This is a very small cemetery ~ family cemetery? The people buried there are:
James W. Hall (no dates) Hulda C. Hall Dec 25,1836 Dec 18,1926
John Willis "Jack" Lee 1798 Feb 17,1879 Francis Street Lee 1804-1874
Nancy E. Hollingsworth Feb 12,1832 Jan 17,1872 Our Mother and Friend to All
W.H. Hollingsworth Feb 14,1854 Oct 11,1884 earth hath no sorrow heaven cannot heal
Infant daughter of W.H. & F. Hollingsworth b & d Sept. 1,1882 bud on earth to bloom in heaven
Samuel W. Hollingsworth son of W.H. & F. Hollingsworth Sept 1,1876 Nov 5,1876 Our little boy sleeps sweetly here
Willie daughter of W.H. & F. Hollingsworth November 30,1884 June 25,1889
There are other stone markers, but no other names here.
My puzzled thoughts...
John T. Hollingsworth's (1785 - 30 Apr 1865) son John (1823-1887) was married to Sydney Lee (1824-1878).This John Willis "Jack" Lee and Francis Street are her parents.
Nancy E. Hollingsworth buried here is the widow of Jacob J. Hollingsworth.Jacob J. Hollingsworth is the son of Henry Hollingsworth who died 18 Aug 1845 in Benton/Calhoun County, Alabama.Rachel is Henry's widow and a William J. Willis is the administrator of Henry's estate. Jacob J. died in 1854.Nancy E. Hollingsworth and Henry Gains are appointed administers of the estate of Jacob J. on Sept. 4, 1854. The 1860 Census of Calhoun Ranges 5,6,7 has HH 220/221 Henry Gaines 55 Carpenter VA Joabel? 56 SC Nancy 28 SC L__? Street (M) 21 AL WM Hollingsworth 5 AL HH 221/222 J.W. Lee 58 TN Francis 50 TN Gregory 20 AL William 18 AL Margaret 16 AL
I think that James W. Hall is the son of Meredith and Obedience Hall.I have an abstract of Meredith Hall's will (1856 in Benton/Calhoun Co., AL) in which a John Hollingsworth is administrator.Of course, I have no idea which of the John Hollingsworth it is.
The Hall name makes me think there is a connection since John T.'s oldest son is Wesley Hall Hollingsworth born 1807.
There is more, but this is enough for now. Sure would appreciate comments if anyone has any!
