Found a note in a Google Book: John Homan was one of the firstr settlers in upper section of Newberry District.he was granted 250 acres land on Big Saluda River in year 1767.He was probably the father of Andrew Holman who married a daughter of John Dominick; Windel Holman, Richard Holman, William Holman, John Holman, Jr. and David Holman.they were all living in Saluda at a later date 1780-1790.J. Windel Holman married Christina, William married Mary > son William Jr.
I would like to know if this is the Andrew Homan who shows up in St. Clair Co and marries a Birchfield, and moves to Tuscaloosa, Al 1850. 1864 he joins the Civil War on the Union side and dies of measles. He never talked about his family but legend says he was one of 6 brothers which fits this story. Thanks
