Janice's information is correct. William Albert married Althea Wilemon and had 3 children;Annis, Chester, and Donovan.Annis was my grandmother. They moved to California when she was very young, I found the family on the township records for around the San Joaquin County area. She was 17 in the census then. Her first marriage was to Mr. Moss (can't find his first name), and had a son-Alfred.She later married a Spanish/Philipino Field Worker named Louis Magoncia and had 2 more boys-Louis and Chester, and 3 girls - Marie, Christine and Julia. She later had a falling out with her father, William Albert Holybee and raised her children in the Delano California field camps and later moved them to Lathrop.I don't know why he disowned her, but perhaps that is why few had heard of us. Great Uncle Donovan Holybee never had children of his own and when my grandmother committed suicide at the age of 41 yrs, shortly after her daughter Marie died to measels, he took her kids and raised them as his own.Great Uncle Chester Holybee never had children either. He was found embraced with his true love after they killed themselves together, a Romeo and Juliet type of story.
I took care of my Great Uncle Don after his wife, my great aunt Fannie died. We visited my gg Grandfather William Albert Holybee - we knew him as gg grandpa Albert, quite often and he started getting to know some of us and seemed to be glad we cared. He loved showing off his "Little Garden of Eden" drove of citrus trees, from limes to tangerines growing all around his huge 8 bedroom home. The last of the 13, up 'til he passed away, Lorenzo Holybee , had been keeping in touch with my mother and me. He was trying to encourage me to get in touch with the Holybee clan for the family tree.I'd been trying to get us on it ever since. But since we were apparently not known of, it's slow going.
