Hi James,Thanks for both of the last replies.Mistakes are noted, and forgiven! :-)The information that you gave does help clear up some things, but I am still a bit confused.I have that "my" William Hollifield (I have a middle initial "P" for him, but don't know where it came from) was born between 1740 and 1745.This would be probable as I know that by the 1790 census, Rev. John and Cecelia, his daughter, had several children. The second generation William that you have listed was born in 1790 according to what you have listed.I had that "my" William was son of Daniel, but perhaps this is not true after all.My ggg grandfather, Nehemiah, was born in 1790, and was a son of Rev. John and Cecelia. There were several girls born to this union prior to the birth of Nehemiah.I have printed out the information from the website that you included in your last message and will study that to see if it helps. Now I know why I stopped researching the Hollifields before!I am determined to find some answers this time though.I appreciate very much all the effort that you have made to help me!I have printed everything out and will study it and my other notes and I will let you know what I conclude.By the way, the pictures of the old homestead on your web site are wonderful! What a thrill that the home has been preserved through the years. Thanks again for all your help.
