It is my understanding that some of the HOOEY family moved from Port Perry to Cobourg area around the last year of the first war.
As well, my aunt used to be in contact with her uncle. Judge Hooey in Texas USA. He moved to the US with his mother , my grandmothers sister, (nee Carrick I think) near the end of the first war after his father Private Hooey was killed in action in Europe.
I have some memorablia of his (medal from war) but have not pursued anythinguntil this week when I signed up with this forum.
The connection to me is throught the Taylor name for my grandfather and Carrick name for my grandmother.
My grandfather had brothers that migrated from England to Austarlia and Saskatchewan according to the family bible, death notices and a copy of a will from Saskatchewan for "Taylor" DGT.
