Below is a message from Cecelia Kennedy. However her email address is no longer valid. Does anyone know her or how to get in touch with her?
“I have very little information on my Hootsell line. I understand George W.Green m. Amanda Hootsell (my GG-grandparents). This was his 1st marriage, her 3rd. I don’t know if Hootsell was her maiden name. They had a cotton plantation called Fairview or Green’s Plantation in Concordia Parish on what is now called “old river”. There was a landing on “old river” where boats stopped to pick up and unload-called Green’s Landing & is still listed on some maps today. George served on the police jury in Concordia Parish for some time (late 1850’s or 60’s)- via courthouse records in Vidalia, La. They had a daughter Alice Malvina Green b. 1847-d. 1920. She m. Thomas Dix Barker (my Ggrandparents). All names mentioned are buried in Natchez City Cemetery (with the exception of Amanda Hootsell Green). I have not been able to find out where she is buried or any info on her. I tried to find out who George & Amanda’s parents, brothers, & sisters were with no luck.”
