Died at Pella, Iowa, June 25th, at 2 o'clock p.m. of indigestion resulting in spasms, Leeland A., little son of Reverend and Mrs. R. R. Hopton, his age being four weeks and five days. The remains were brought to Leon, Wednesday, accompanied by his parents and on Thursday, a short funeral service was held at the home of the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Hamilton at 10 o'clock a.m., conducted by Reverend F. Edwards, after which the little cold form was sadly borne to the Leon Cemetery and laid to rest.
Brother and sister Hopton have the sympathy of a large circle of relatives and ardent friends, both at Leon and Pella where they are so well known. May the sweet comforts of God's grace sustain them in the hours of sorrow and pain.
So fades the lovely blooming flower Frail, smiling solace of an hour. So soon our transient comforts fly And pleasure only blooms to die.
