I came across your message about Annie Horrocks of Bury Lancashire. She and John Shelmerdine are relatives of mine, my great-great grandparents through their daughter, Florence Alice Shelmerdine.
You probably know about the alternative spelling of Horrocks in some records, I've seen it spelt 'Horrox'.
I think it was sometime ago that you posted your message, have you been able to discover anything about Annie since then?
I've been doing some research and my notes for Annie are copied below:
Registry of Births: Jan-Mar 1858 District: Bury Vol. 8c Page 392 Registry of Marriages: Apr-Jun 1882 District: Ashton 8d 673 Registry of Deaths: Mar 1924 Bury 8c 620 (aged 67) (for Annie Horrocks)
Census 1861: Might be Bury, Pilkington entry for 12 year old living at Cinderhill. Census 1881: Can't find in this year but Florence Alice Shelmerdine's Birth Certificates of 1883 states 64 Clifford Street, Stretford as the family home. Census 1901: YES - Living at 22 Clayburn St, Hulme, St Paul's, Manchester - 42 years old
Please let me know if any of the Birth, Marriage or Death certificate information (I can't guarantee it to be 100% accurate, I've done my best to piece it together from the little I have) tallies with the information you have. I haven't ordered any of the certificates from the GRO because I live in a remote part of Africa and am only occasionally back in the UK.
