I'm searching for information on the Horsey family listed in the 1881 census of Fordingham, Hampshire. There are three families listed, all living on Salisbury Street in Fordingham:
1. William Horsey, born abt 1816 in Fordingham, married to Sarah, born abt 1811 in Woolwich, Kent. Listed as living with them is Sidney Horsey, age 12 (their grandson); Sarah Bartlett, age 38, listed as their widowed daughter; and a boarder named William Parsons from the West Indies, who is apprenticed to William Horsey as a wheelwright.
2. William Horsey, b. 1845, married to Jane, b. abt 1847. They have children: Benjamin (age 8); David R. (age 6); George P. (age 4); and Gerrold A. (age 1). Also living with them is a general servant named Kate Coombs.
3. Elizabeth Horsey, b. 1831, widowed; her sons Thomas, age 23, and William, age 19.
It seems that the second William Horsey listed is probably the son of the first William Horsey, but Elizabeth, at age 50, would be too old to have been married to a son of the first William Horsey, so perhaps she was married to his brother?
From family history I know that Sidney Horsey married Agnes Marks, and they had three children: Mary Florence; Cicely Ellen; and Mabel. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated!
