Further to the Howarths of Salford, I was wandering around Weaste Cemetery (Salford) today and stumbled across two Howarth graves. One was a sandstone obelisk with granite insets upon which was inscribed:
ALFRED, son of Edmund and Alice Howarth, died 25 May 1876 aged 28.
ALICE, wife of Edmund, died 23rd November 1878 (I think) aged 89.
EDMUND, died 3 February 1879 aged 78.
MARY, daughter of Edmund and Elizabeth (?) died 30 May 1876 age 41.
On another gravestone not far away was:
THOMAS, son of John and Anne HOWARTH, died 29 January 1871 in his 21st year.
ELLEN, (mother of above John Howarth) died 1st May 1871 aged 83.
JOHN HOWARTH, died 12 June 1881 aged 67.
THOMAS, son of Oliver and Mary Eliza Howarth, died 15 June 1886 age 1 yr and 7 mths.
ANN, (widow of the above John Howarth) died 23 Feb 1888 aged 76.
ETHEL, daughter of Oliver and Mary Eliza, died 3 Feb 1888 aged 2 yrs and 3 mths.
EVELYN, daughter, born 4 April 1895, died 3 April 1896.
