I am looking for info on Henry C. Howden's siblings b. 18 Jun 1792 Peterborough NH d. 02 Oct 1885 Fillmore, Allegany, NY.
They are William b. 04 Nov 1778 Salem MA m. Mary Smith John b. 06 19 Oct 1783 Salem MA Sally b. 19 Oct 1783 Salem MA m. Robert Nay Thomas b. 14 Feb 1787, Salem MA Betsy m. Gurdon Munsell 09 Sep 1815; and,
Henry C., their youngest, married Gurdon's sister, Abigail Munsill 29 Oct 1812 Bristol, Addison, VT. She and Gurdon are children of Gurdon Munsell and Olive Carver. Henry and Abigail moved to Hume NY (the beginning of our NY line).
The parents of the children listed above were William Henry Howden: B. 1752 ENG/SCT D. 1829 Bristol VT and Sarah Barnard b. bef 1770 poss. Salem MA.
William Henry's father was John W. Howden but we have no dates or any other info on him except for his military record.
(This info was gathered from the following: 1) History of the Town of Peterborough NH; 2) Smith's History of Peterborough NH pub. 1876, p. 122 3) The Daughters of the American Revolution--Genealogists (pub. data in the DAR Magazine) 4) Genealogical and Family History of the State of VT--Vol. I (compiled by ed. Hon. Hiram Carleton of Montepelier, 1903, p. 481)
William Henry and family settled Salem MA as the older children were born there. They went to CT and then to Peterborough NH where Henry C. was born. In 1816 William Henry went to Bristol VT where he died in 1829; that is where his son John lived at that time.
Have developed the NY line but would like more info on the ancestors above and more specifically on John W. Howden -- the father of William Henry Howden b. 1752 Eng/Sct d. 1829 Bristol VT and Sarah Barnard b. bef 1770 poss. Salem MA.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps we have a match somewhere along the line! Thanks.
