This is one of the most facinating things about corresponding with others while researching....sometimes a drop of a new surname or a new county will provoke me to look in that area.
I found Hiram and Pashey (BERRY) HOWDESHELL in the 1830 census of Lincoln County, MO [there homestead] and I was able to locate the Hiram and Pashey HOWDESHELL family in the 1850 census of Johnson County, MO.
I was unable to locate Hiram H. HOWDESHELL and family in the 1840 census until you and began to correspond.Your previous posting stating Hugh Miller HOWDESHELLs pob was Morgan County, MO.
So, with that, I searched the 1840 census of Morgan County, MO and 'lo and behold there was Hiram, Pashey and family:
1840 Census, Buffalo Twp., Morgan County, MO: name listed as Hiram Hondeshell Males:2-2-3-0-0-1 Females:0-0-0-0-0-1
Next door to Martin H. Berry and family Neighbor to William Berry and family Neighbor to Jacob Smith and family
Pashey's maiden name was Berry and Hiram's son Levi married Amanda Smith--probably all related to the neighbors.Seems these folks migrated in packs.
Given that Hugh Miller HOWDESHELLs dob is c1839 and that Hiram and Pashey were in Morgan County in the 1840 census, Hugh Miller HOWDESHELL was most likely b: in Morgan County, MO.
So, even if nothing else comes out of this, I owe you a "thank you" for leading me to look in Morgan County, MO.Previous to our correspondence, I had a gap in this familys location.....so THANK YOU.
