I don't have any confirmed anyformation about Felix's ancestry. I have some sketchy information, but I'm unsure of its accuracy.Felix was probably the son of a Samuel House who came to Georgia before 1800 as Felix and his brother Thomas were both listed in later census records as being born in Georgia...Felix born about 1797. Samuel was born in the 1770's, wife unknown. He had siblings, John (b. 1778), Henry, Patsy (m. Jarrett Rose, Feb 14, 1808, Jackson County), Keziah, Colley, Nancy, & Mary.
Samuel's father most likey a Lawrence Howse (born 1730's died 1792 Union County South Carolina, wife Sarah ___.Lawrence is a name passed through the John Howse line, which I am also descended from.
Lawrence's father was a Samuel Howse, b. 1710's died 1773, Brunswick County, Va., wife Mary ___.
His father was a Thomas Howse, Sr, b. 1680's died 1734, Bruswick County, Va., wife Hannah Lawrence (?).
The father of Thomas, Sr. might have been William Howse, immigrant to Charles City Co Va in 1657.
In an 18th Century Va newspaper (dated march 1795), listed the children of a Lawrence Howse, deceased, Samuel, John, Henry, Colley, Patsy, Mary, Keziah and Nancy.
These are records found in "Some South Carolina County Records, vol 2", by Silas E. Lucas, Jr.It is information passed on to me by someone else, who got it from someone else, etc.As I said, I don't know how accurate it is, but it is a place to start.I hope this information helps you, and that we can find our Howse ancestry.
Happy Howse/House hunting,
Patricia Stallings
