I have copies of a series of letters written between 1866 and 1881, signed by "G. L. Hubbell", I believe, although the writing is very ornate script and I can't be certain of the initials. They were written from various locations: Mobile, 1867; New Orleans, 1867; Chicago, 1880; and Mt. Vernon, Illinois, 1881. Someone, I believe my great-grandfather, wrote "Giulio" and the dates of the letters on each. I believe that the author may have some connection to the Hubbells of Champlain and Chazy, New York, but I cannot identify him. Does anyone have any ideas who he might be?
