My mother-in-law passed away last week and thought I would added her obit should others be interested.It appeared in the Sun newspaper, Bremerton, WA on 14 Aug 2002.
Lyle Wynne (Job) Huestis, 90, of Bremerton died Aug. 6, 2002, in Bremerton.
She was born Jan. 10, 1912, in Mountain View, Calif., to Barney and Juliette (Newnan) Job. Her parents were apricot orchardists.
She graduated from Mountain View High School, later earning a teaching degree. She received a master's degree in religion from Berkeley Divinity College in Berkeley, Calif.
She went on to work as a missionary kindergarten teacher on an Indian reservation near Carson City, Nev., from 1935 to 1942. In 1943, the Baptist Mis-sionary Program sent her to Bremerton, where she was instrumental in establishing a Sunday school program at the Manette Community Church.
In addition to her activities with the Sunday school and other church youth groups, she served as a field director for the Bremerton office of the Totem Girl Scout Council.
In December 1948, she married Max Huestis at the Manette Community Church. She then became a homemaker, remaining active in the church.
Her favorite pastimes were genealogy and knitting.
Survivors include a son, Mark Huestis and his wife, Marie, of Port Orchard; two granddaughters, Dawn and Lindsay, both of Port Orchard; and a niece, Ruth, of Los Altos, Calif.
