Sarah B. Hufford bc. 1850 in Iowa was married to Samuel Corder Richards
This family can be found in Shasta County, California.Sarah B. Hufford was married to Saml' Richards 18.Nov.1868 in Shasta County. It's been reported that this record can be found in book G, pg. 125
After Samuel Corder Richards death, it appears to me that the widow and daughter Annie Belle Richards moved to Los Angeles County, and can be found there in the 1910 Federal Census.
Some researchers have this family in the Napa County area, this is incorrect.
I have no idea where this woman was born, besides IOWA somewhere circa 1850.But this is also yet to be properly determined.
In the 1870 census, her birth location is listed as Louisiana, in 1880, it's listed as Iowa, 1900 shows Iowa, and 1910 shows Iowa.
However, the birth locations of her parents differ many times.
Sarah's father was either born in Iowa or Kentucky and her mother was born in Louisiana, Kentucky or Indiana.
I wonder if her mother died at a young age, and she really didn't know.
Sarah's daughter Anna Belle Richards was married to a man by the name of Philip Scherer on 14.Dec.1893 also recorded in Shasta County, CA .. reported to be in book K, Pg. 226.
In the 1910 Federal Census, Anna is listed as a Richards, not a Scherer.
I have no idea where this family is buried or where they went after the 1910 federal census.
Samuel Corder Richards was a blacksmith for nearly 40 years in the Redding community of Shasta County, CA.
I'm trying to figure out why Samuel's middle name was CORDER.
